The Championship race for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes has kicked into action.
The Sun says Middlesbrough have tabled a staggering £12million bid for Rhodes.
The Teessiders' offer came within hours of Nottingham Forest bidding £8million for the Rovers frontman.
The fee is subject to Rhodes propelling Boro into the Premier League during an initial loan move to the Riverside Stadium.
Promotion-hopefuls Norwich City and Derby County have also expressed an interest in Rhodes.
