Italy coach Marcello Lippi is eager for Alberto Aquilani to start playing regularly for Liverpool.

Aquilani is in line for his first start against Manchester City this weekend.

"I have a varied group and it needs to be complete," Lippi said. "If I haven't considered a certain player, then why should I not consider him if the conditions are right? Look at Aquilani, for example. If he plays with consistency for Liverpool, then why shouldn't I consider him?"
