Italy Under-21 coach Gigi Di Biagio is keen on the senior job.
The former Inter Milan midfielder says he'd be up for the task.
"My name is circulating due to the negative responses that are probably coming in," Di Biagio told reporters.
"I have been working with the Nazionale at various levels for five years, I am an employee of the Federation and there is a new President.
"Someone will tell me something on what I have to do. I am open and available to all options. Of course right now I am concentrated on an important objective."
