Shay Given is well aware that this is an exciting time to be involved at Stoke City.
The Potters have produced two top-half finishes in a row and are playing attractive football under the guidance of Mark Hughes.
Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Given made the switch from Aston Villa to the Britannia earlier this summer and is desperate to be part of something big in Staffordshire as the Potters prepare for what is expected to be another successful campaign.
"The last couple of seasons you could say that Stoke have overachieved but you would always want to improve and there is a very good squad here with hopefully a couple more new faces to come in," Given told Sky Sports News HQ.
"The manager has done a great job but we would love to win a trophy and I am really excited about the new season. It is a good time to be a Stoke player – and to be a Stoke fan."
