Isco insists Real Madrid can be happy with Athletic Bilbao point

Isco insists Real Madrid shouldn't be down after their 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao.

The midfielder scored for Real at San Mames.

He said, “San Mamés is a tough place to come. Athletic make life very difficult for you and go man for man in almost every area of the pitch. We conceded a goal early on and I think we deserved more in the second half.

"We go away with a point, which is not ideally what we wanted, but it's better than nothing. Our competitive nature is still there for all to see. We came off the back of three wins in a row and we were up against very tough opposition today. Perhaps we were lacking a bit of patience and a clinical edge up top, but we've got absolute confidence in this team.

“The game demanded that we keep the ball well, move Athletic around and probe for gaps in the defence. We found them, but we lacked a bit of quality in the final third and in front of goal. The competition in this squad is quite remarkable and with such a long season ahead we're going to need everyone to be available. We have to be ready and keep improving."
