Ipswich boss Keane hints at Tottenham offer for Wickham

Ipswich boss Roy Keane admits offers have arrived for star striker Connor Wickham.

Teenage striker Wickham is one of the most highly-rated players outside the Premier League and has been linked with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports have claimed that Ipswich would demand £10million for Wickham, but Keane is adamant he is not looking to cash in on the England youth international.

He revealed some members of his squad have attracted interest from other clubs, but he is determined to hang on to his key players.

"We have had a number of phone calls and one or two offers for, what I would class as, our most important players who we have no interest in letting go," Keane told the club's official website.

"Connor is very much one for the future and we believe he is going to be a top, top player.

"He had a very good end to the season, even away with England [U17s], and Connor is very much part of our plans.

"From the club and the owner's point of view, we are under no pressure to sell him. That is good news for everyone because we need players like Connor to produce next year if we are going to have a successful season."
