The 26-year-old striker has not featured for Romania since May 2006 but coach Victor Piturcae had him watched in Saturday's match against Hibs.
The ex-Sporting Lisbon player could now make a late bid to be called into Romania's squad for Euro 2008 should he impress in the friendly with Russia later in the month.
"When Craig Brewster got the fax through saying I was in the squad I was surprised and happy. I hoped to get a recall to the national team and to get the chance to play at Euro 2008.
"It justifies coming to Inverness. I think I made the right move. Inverness have helped me and I want to help them by scoring more goals.
"The Romanian manager has said he will choose the players in the best form for Euro 2008. I was last involved in May 2006, when Romanian played in a tournament in America. My last game was against Colombia."
