Inverness to appoint in 48 hours

Inverness Caledonian Thistle director of football Graeme Bennett hopes to appoint a new manager in the next 48 hours. The interview process will continue Sunday and Monday with four candidates on the short-list to replace Craig Brewster.

Terry Butcher, Chris Sutton, Maurice Malpas and Archie Knox are among those thought to be on the shortlist to manage the SPL's bottom club.

Bennett said: "The process has started, effectively the club are in search of a new manager and that is taking place over the weekend and will continue tomorrow and Monday. Hopefully, by Tuesday we will have a result.

"There has been a list drawn up, we're just checking out availability, how much they want the job and how they fit the bill. We are speaking to four. We've interviewed two.

"There is no clear favourite and we have to carry on as best suits the club.

"There are a lot of issues to be resolved. We could appoint someone for four months or four years, it all depends on how the individual feels he can bring the club forward.

"We're just looking for a good manager who can take the club off the bottom of the league. We're not ruling anyone in or anyone out at this stage."
