Inter Milan are chasing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney - and Fabio Capello. Current Inter boss Rafa Benitez is under pressure after a difficult start to his career at the San Siro that has left the club in a disappointing seventh in Serie A.
Speculation has been increasing that club president Massimo Moratti is rapidly losing patience with the former Liverpool chief and has identified Capello as the man to replace him - especially as he believes the FA would allow the Italian coach to leave for little compensation.
TMW says if Capello does take the reigns at Inter, he would try to persuade Rooney to leave Manchester United and join him at the European Champions.
Rooney only signed a new five-year deal at United in October, after previously stating publicly that he wanted to leave the club, but that will not stop Inter pursuing him in January, of they can first lure Capello back home.
