Inter Milan's Serbian great Dejan Stankovic has announced his international retirement.
The midfielder, 33, made his decision after the 1-0 loss to Slovenia last night which ended his side's hopes of Euro 2012 qualification.
"It was my last game for my country," he said. "I was waiting for my farewell encounter and this was it.
"I've played in many matches, I've helped the team and I think now is the time to just think about Inter.
"There are younger players than me who need to start preparing for the World Cup campaign in Brazil.
"It's time for a generation change, it's time to leave some space for the kids."
