Inter Milan skipper Mauro Icardi delighted with brace for Hellas Verona win

Mauro Icardi was delighted with his brace for Inter Milan's 3-0 win over Hellas Verona.

The Argentine netted after only 38 seconds against the relegation strugglers this afternoon, then scored again in the second half as Luciano Spalletti's team ran out comfortable winners.

“It's a perfect day, but not because of my goals," Icardi told Sky Italia.

“The truth is that we have given consistency to our recent performances.

“It's obvious that I'm happy with the goal at record speed. We know what we need to do well.

“There isn't long to go in the season and we want to reach the Champions League."

Inter's next match is the Derby della Madonnina against rivals Milan in midweek.

“We go into it with the right frame of mind. We will work as hard as we can in these few days."
