Inter Milan are pushing Manchester United to drop their price for Romelu Lukaku.

The Mirror says the Belgian's hopes of linking up with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at Inter Milan hinge on United taking a big financial hit on the striker.

The Reds want Inter to match the £75m, plus add-ons, that they paid Everton for Lukaku three years ago.

Inter have had signs from the 26-year-old, who was not in the matchday squad for the game on Saturday, that he wants to move.

They believe Serie A's August 23 transfer deadline gives them an advantage in persuading United to save money on a player who is unlikely to be a first choice if he doesn't move.
