Inter Milan offer Icardi to Man Utd in Lukaku talks

Manchester United have been offered Mauro Icardi in exchange for Romelu Lukaku as part of Inter Milan's latest pursuit of the Belgium striker.

The big striker has been inconsistent for the club after making the switch from Everton two years ago for £85 million, and United are open to selling Lukaku this summer - but are standing firm over their £80 million valuation.

Inter have held talks with United to discuss a deal but have not been willing to meet United's asking price. The Serie A club have already offered Ivan Perisic to United in a player-plus-cash deal, but the bid was turned down.

And now Sky Sport Italia report that Inter have offered Icardi in exchange for Lukaku, but United also rejected that proposal.

Icardi scored 17 goals in 37 appearances this season, but the Argentine was stripped of the captaincy in February following a bust-up with Inter's hierarchy.
