Javier Zanetti was asked to name his all-time Champions League XI and duly delivered a star-studded line-up.
The Argentine legend spent almost two decades with Inter Milan where he helped the Nerazzurri clinch the 2010 Champions League title and along the way, played with and against some of the best footballers Europe has seen.
Zanetti selected Manchester United great Ryan Giggs in his starting eleven, placing him on the left wing in a four-man midfield consisting of Barcelona star Xavi, ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira and compatriot Lionel Messi on the right.
Starting from the back, Zanetti overlooked Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for Bianconeri and Lazio legend Angelo Peruzzi who would be protected by a back four of Cafu, Walter Samuel, Roberto Ayala and Paolo Maldini.
Up front, Italian hero Roberto Baggio and Brazilian superstar Ronaldo would work together in a formidable attack.
