Inter Milan great Brehme: Conte has long wanted to work with Hakimi

Inter Milan great Andy Brehme is convinced Antonio Conte has long wanted to work with Achraf Hakimi.

The former Real Madrid wing-back, who was on-loan at Borussia Dortmund last season, signed for Inter this past summer.

Brehme told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'll tell you how it went, I remember that game well: Conte fell in love with Hakimi in Dortmund. And he did well: the wide players are fundamental in his game. He is an exceptional player, there aren't many around like that. Technical and very fast, he will give Inter a huge hand this season. I am convinced.

"In the Bundesliga he was dominant, despite his very young age. The coldness in producing assists after a sprint: he knows how to be decisive. Hakimi reminds me of when in my time, with the rule of three foreigners, the footballer who came from abroad had to necessarily be able to make a difference.

"With him, Inter went back to those days there: Hakimi is not just anyone, on the pitch he does different things from the others."
