Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta has confirmed they tried to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud last month.

Giroud's camp have blamed Inter for the deal never eventuating.

But Marotta said, “There were some priorities, which were the players we signed, so were completely satisfied. We had wanted another target, which was Giroud, but Chelsea were not prepared to even negotiate with us."

Victor Moses was added on loan from Chelsea, via Fenerbahce, to reunite with his former coach Antonio Conte.

“Moses is another addition to this group, which Antonio Conte is making the most of. He had already worked with the player at Chelsea, he is starting this evening and there are many games to go this season, so everyone will get their chance."
