Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta has detailed the background of the failed swap between Alexis Sanchez and Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
Marotta is adamant it was agents driving the deal.
"There was a bit of audacity on the part of the agents of the two players," Marotta said.
“Beyond a meeting between the directors, we never got into the heart of the negotiations. In compliance with Inter's indications and guidelines, I still reconfirm today that there will be no entries and exits.
“We can count on an important group."
Thus, the CEO ruled out a move for Christian Eriksen this winter.
“When you are at a big club, there are no starters and reserves," he continued. “There are starters and starters.
“Evaluations must also be made on the player's availability. Conte had an intuition in changing his role and Eriksen himself is a serious professional."
