Inter Milan expand into Indonesia

Inter Milan have opened a new academy in Indonesia, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Inter Academy Indonesia, which was launched on Tuesday in the province of Bandung, will provide a youth development programme for coaches and young soccer players across the country. The initiative will begin with the Serie A club's staff sharing their coaching methodology and expertise with the elite teams in Persib Bandung's youth academy.

Inter Academy head coach Andrea Ratti will initiate operations at the new facility, while Claudio Brambilla will remain in Indonesia as the first permanent coach, allowing young players to benefit from training sessions of a high technical standard.

Inter already have academies in Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Japan and Saudi Arabia, which boast 15,000 players, 200 local instructors and 30 Italian coaches.

Inter Milan's vice president Javier Zanetti said: "All children like to play football and I'm very happy that – thanks to Inter Academy sharing its technical knowledge and promoting healthy values – it is now easier for boys and girls in Indonesia to nurture their dreams.

"Inter Academy's aim is to share coaching methodology and train coaches and children in their own countries while respecting international football rules and maintaining high moral standards.

This is an important step forward for the development of the game in Indonesia, a country which has always had a very passionate Nerazzurri following."
