Inter Milan defender Vanheusden admits he considered quitting game

Inter Milan defender Zinho Vanheusden admits he's considered quitting football.

Vanheusden is currently playing on-loan with AZ Almkmaar, but suffered a serious foot injury earlier this season.

He said, "Before my foot injury, I always felt strong and convinced I would come back.

“But this time… I had just come back and then I had to have another operation.

“I missed another three months, and it felt like my season was over, I was done.

“Football is my life, but when you've been through a lot and you break your foot again you start to think, ok, I've had a good run, but no more."

Vanheusden also said, “I've really thought about quitting.

“I have to thank AZ for showing understanding of my situation. I'm still working to get back up to the pace of things, but at least I'm not experiencing pain any longer."

“Of course it's a big club, but I'm not here to say that I have to make it there in the next few years."
