Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has welcomed the appointment of new coach Antonio Conte.

Skriniar believes they can win silverware under Conte.

“I haven't met Conte yet because when he was announced as our new coach, us players were no longer in Italy," Skriniar told reporters from the Slovakia camp.

“Still, with his arrival there will be new challenges and expectations. He and Inter are capable of winning a trophy together."

He added: “We managed to get into the Champions League, which is a great thing, but the end of the season was tough.

“Luckily we finished fourth and that's fine, but we could've finished higher; unfortunately, like last season, we couldn't avoid a slump and we dropped points."
