Inter Milan coach Inzaghi happy with performance for victory over Cremonese

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi was pleased with their controlled performance for Tuesday night's 3-1 win against Cremonese.

Joaquin Correa, Nicolò Barella and Lautaro Martinez struck for Inter, with David Okere netting a late consolation for Cremonese.

Inzaghi said, “I am very happy, because it was not an easy game to win against a Cremonese side that this season has deserved far better results," Inzaghi told DAZN.

“On Friday we played well in the first half against Lazio, but then incidents changed the game. If Denzel Dumfries had scored that opportunity on 1-1, we'd be talking about a very different game.

“We are one point better off than at this stage last season, but it's only the start and we know there's a very long way to go. We need to improve.

“This side fought to the end for the Scudetto, we won two trophies last season, so we experienced joy and disappointment, but still won two trophies that Inter hadn't lifted in 12 years.

“Expectations are always very high at Inter, perhaps there was too much talk about the defeat to Lazio, but I don't mind it, as it fired us up. We analysed that match and played a mature performance this evening."
