Inter Milan coach Inzaghi: Bologna defeat just not good enough

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi says there's no excuses for their 1-0 defeat to Bologna on Sunday.

Riccardo Orsolini struck for Bologna's 1-0 win.

“Very little can be taken from this game. In the second half we did something but there were warning signs on (Francesco) Acerbi's pass where we were open," said Inzaghi.

“The second half was better but we have to understand why these things happen. We're tired after European games but we've been doing it for many years."

“If you go and see after the Champions League we have some problems, and away from home they become even more pronounced.

“We have to do better, the first half was insufficient then in the second half we created the conditions to win but we conceded a goal that had to be avoided. Away from San Siro we must do better, this year the points are not enough."

However, Inzaghi insists the players retains his confidence.

“I've never felt betrayed. The boys have always given everything, I'm sorry that after three days we don't take the pitch in the same way. We are Inter and we must do better.

“We are Inter, after a defeat they will feel criticism and it is right, I am the first person responsible. We have to be clear and analyse this first half in which we lacked in all the components we put on the pitch."
