Inter Milan coach Frank de Boer insists he's not freezing out Ever Banega.

The midfielder has been missing since being hooked in defeat to Cagliari.

"It's a tactical question, I won't explain my decision," De Boer said.

“I'm very happy with Ever though. He's doing well, but we have a lot of good players. I preferred [Marcelo] Brozovic, but that can always change.

“It's not a problem with the player, but a tactical choice.

“Gabigol? I've said repeatedly that you have to understand it's not easy for him here, the team isn't going through a good spell and it's not easy for a new face.

“He's working hard and his time will come."
