Inter Milan coach Conte: Why Middlesbrough fans stunned me

Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte has recalled the support he witnessed from Middlesbrough supporters when working in England.

Conte lasted two seasons with Chelsea before being shown the door.

He said, "I've coached in England and I have to say that you can really appreciate the atmosphere surrounding games there. People go to matches to enjoy the spectacle, and the effort put in by the players on the pitch is recognised.

"I often think back to one particular moment: Chelsea had just run out 4-1 winners against Middlesbrough, a team who were fighting for their lives at the bottom. Despite the defeat, the away fans applauded my players, who were on the winning side. I was surprised and also went to pay tribute to these supporters."
