Inter Milan coach Conte welcomes fighting spirit for victory over Udinese

Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte wants to develop a fighting spirit after victory over Udinese.

A Stefano Sensi header allowed them to squeeze past Udinese after Rodrigo De Paul's red card.

“We'll have to fight it out for every result in every game in every situation," Conte told DAZN.

“I complimented my lads, because it was a very difficult match and these three points are important. We deserved them, but must also recognise Udinese did well to stay in the game to the end.

“We should've been more clinical and finished it off earlier, but instead we were always just hanging on. I read too much rubbish in the papers, but the truth is nothing is easy and we will never take anything for granted. Every game is a battle and the level of Serie A competition has definitely improved.

“I had warned the players that Udinese would take a very defensive approach and we had to be careful on counter-attacks. We've got to start moves from the back and we achieved that against a team that will cause problems for many opponents this season.

“It's a long road ahead of us, we have a lot of work to do and won't get caught up by easy enthusiasm. We want to be a tough team."
