Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta insists he feels optimistic about completing a deal for Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian fuelled speculation he was on the verge of joining Inter after United left him out of Friday's friendly with Perth Glory.
Inter confirmed last week that they made an official approach for the 26-year-old.
Asked if he was optimistic about Lukaku, CEO Marotta told reporters: "Yes, I am optimistic about everything."
United want at least £75m for the burly striker, with Inter having had their two-year loan offer rejected by the Red Devils.
