Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has welcomed new teammate Roberto Gagliardini.

The former Atalanta midfielder enjoyed a winning debut against Chievo yesterday.

And Icardi said after the win: "We must improve the ruthlessness in front of goal and I am convinced that we will move up.

"Gagliardini? I've already spoken to (Piero) Ausilio: he likes him a lot. He must continue like this to build confidence.

"He also went close to scoring."
