Inter Milan cancel media conference after 'letter to editor'

Inter Milan have cancelled all media contact in reaction to a letter published in Corriere dello Sport aimed at coach Antonio Conte.

A statement was released just as the journalists had gathered in the conference room on Saturday.

“Yesterday, the Corriere dello Sport published an offensive letter towards our coach, justifying its aggression in the comment," read the statement.

“In order to send a signal to all media that they must 'guarantee respect of people,' we will not hold a press conference today."

The letter appeared in the newspaper's letters section, written by a Bologna fan.

It spoke of “relishing" Inter's Champions League elimination after a defeat to “the Barcelona B team, which showed the clapped-out coach how you play football.

“I contest the beatification of Conte, who in his career, despite the victories, has never shown good football."

The editor of the letters section had replied noting Inter "threw away the Champions League" by loaning Mauro Icardi to PSG.
