Inter Miami striker Higuain open to postponing retirement for Messi

Inter Miami striker Gonzalo Higuain says he could extend his stay should Lionel Messi arrive.

Inter Miami's Chief Business Officer Xavier Asensi said a couple of weeks ago that the team is always looking to attract the best players in the world to play for them, and that PSG star Messi is certainly one of them.

Higuaín says he hasn't talked to Messi about the possibility of playing together for Inter Miami, but the Argentinian striker says that he wouldn't reject the opportunity to play with the Barcelona great, but feels good having played with him for over nine years in Argentina's National Team.

"He has a contract with PSG right now and I don't know if he'll eventually come play here. I had the opportunity to play with him for nine years", he told the media.

When asked about the possibility of extending his career to be able to play alongside Messi, the Argentinian striker only replied that he'll eventually make a decision by December.

"I don't know. If it happens (Messi's signing) we'll see which decision we take. In December I will communicate my decision, but for now you'll just have to be patient."
