Inter Miami confirms Man Utd hero Neville as new manager

MLS club Inter Miami have announced former Manchester United and Everton star Phil Neville as manager.

The former boss of the England Women's National Team will now be the head of the MLS club.

The 43-year-old is the second ever manager at the newly minted club, after Diego Alonso departed.

Inter Miami is part owned by Neville's former Manchester United teammate and footballing legend David Beckham.

Neville told the club's website: “I am incredibly delighted for this opportunity to coach Inter Miami and to work with Chris and the entire ownership group.

“This is a very young club with a lot of promise and upside, and I am committed to challenging myself, my players and everyone around me to grow and build a competitive soccer culture we can all be proud of.

“This fantastic soccer-loving market deserves consistent performances and a winning mentality, and I look forward to getting to work."
