Insider: Zidane willing to stay with Real Madrid one more year

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is willing to stay for another season.

With a contract to 2022, it's been suggested Zidane could walk away from the club this summer, with Juventus watching developments.

But Okdiario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito, insists Zidane will stay for another year.

Quoted by Okdiario, Inda said, "There is a lot of talk about whether Zidane leaves. He is the coach with the best resume in the world. Many would like to win what Zidane has won. There is talk that he can go to France this year, but (Didier) Deschamps has a contract until 2022.

"Zidane wants to postpone his departure until at least that year."

Inda, who launched Okdiario after leaving El Mundo, reports Zidane is motivated by the prospect of bringing Kylian Mbappe to Spain and working with the France striker next season.

He continued: "If Madrid sign (PSG striker Kylian) Mbappé it will be a new great achievement for Zidane. Zidane's intention is to continue in Madrid and Madrid for him to continue."

Zidane has also been warned by his agents that leaving Real Madrid would cost him a fortune. The World Cup winner covets the France job, though will have to accept a cut on his current wages of well over 50 per cent.

Inda added, "His environment tells him that he would go from earning 10 million (euros) in Madrid to three or four in France."

Zidane leads Real Madrid tonight at Anfield for the second-leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool. They go into the game defending a 3-1 aggregate lead.
