Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is happy knowing coach Zinedine Zidane is insisting he stay.
The World Cup winner was ready to quit this summer before Zidane agreed to return after the sacking of Santiago Solari.
French pundit Frederic Hermel, speaking on RMC, revealed: "I had the opportunity to see Raphael off as we say after the game.
"I said 'your coach has confirmed that you stay' and his smile was significant enough. We talked a bit, he had a little desire, but it is clear that now Varane will stay and will be part of the new sports project that Zidane is preparing.
"It's true that he has had initial doubts, he asked questions but these blues seem to have passed, and Varane, in all likelihood, will stay at Real next season."
