Spain coach Enrique so happy with Chelsea fullback Alonso 'he's ready to forget Alba'

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is fast emerging as a first-choice for Spain coach Luis Enrique.

That's according to Ok Diario's chief football pundit Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito.

Inda says Alonso has done so well this past week that Enrique is ready to back the Chelsea fullback ahead of Barcelona's Jordi Alba.

Quoted by Ok Diario, he said, "Luis Enrique has seen with great joy that Marcos Alonso is responding.

"What he is considering is to forget Jordi Alba forever because he does not like the atmosphere he creates in the dressing room..."

Inda, after leaving El Mundo, personally launched Ok Diario, which is now among the most popular news outlets in Europe.

Alba missed the last Enrique squad due to injury, though he has returned to the training pitch at Barca this international week.

Despite his success at club, Alonso only has five caps, making his debut in 2018 before a three-year gap ahead of a recall earned under Enrique this week for the Nations League.

The fullback has also re-established himself at Chelsea this year under manager Thomas Tuchel after falling out with the German's predecessor Frank Lampard earlier last season.
