Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has informed management he has rejected their latest contract offer.

That's according to journalist Siro López on El Golazo de Gol, who goes further and insists Real have been told by Ramos that he intends to leave when his current deal expires in June.

Ramos has definitively ruled out accepting Real's offer, which proposed a new two-season contract in exchange for accepting a reduction in his terms, which would go from the current €12m-a-year net to €10m-a-year.

It's also claimed Ramos' decision to undergo knee surgery this week is viewed by management as "being selfish" given their injury woes.

The captain isn't expected to be seen in action again until March.
