PSG made an attempt to bring Tottenham fullback Serge Aurier back to Paris over the summer, it has been revealed.

Aurier left PSG three years ago after falling out with management following a public mocking of then coach Laurent Blanc.

However, French pundit Pierre Menes has revealed PSG chief Leonardo made an attempt to re-sign Aurier before they took Alessandro Florenzi from Roma.

After PSG's defeat of Strasbourg, Menes declared on Canal+: "Aurier almost returned to PSG.

"There was contact with Leonardo in the offseason before PSG took Florenzi."
