Insider: PSG all-clear to sign Man Utd star Pogba

Paris Saint Germain are expected to soon make a formal move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

After it emerged that Pogba has rejected a new contract offer from United in the past week, French football sources are insisting Paris Saint Germain will move for the midfielder.

The French giants are reportedly willing to offer €50m for the France World Cup winner, tabling a contract worth €400,000-a-week to his agent, Mino Raiola.

In France, they're convinced Pogba's decision to reject United's contract is a sure sign the path is clear for Paris Saint Germain to bring the midfielder back home.

Quoted by Le 10 Sport, pundit David Aiello of RTL's L'Equipe du Soir declared: "I do not see how a player who refuses to extend with his current club would not be good news for the club who wants to recruit him ... it's mathematical, it's much easier for PSG to make an offer to buy in the final year of contract.

"We have seen that he refused an offer of €18m-a-year, a salary that would put him in the top 5 at PSG. I think that PSG will do everything to sign him now."

The 28 year-old France international was born and raised in Lagny-sur-Marne, which is in the eastern suburbs of the French capital.

Pogba shone in his Euro 2020 campaign with Les Blues this summer, finishing at the round of 16 stage.
