Insider: Chelsea stadium plans keeping Conte in job

Chelsea's plans for a new stadium are keeping manager Antonio Conte in a job.

That's according to local Italian sources, where it's claimed Conte survived yesterday's board meeting despite Monday's humiliation at Watford.

Irma D'Alessandro, of Sportmediaset, told RMC Sport: "We did a thorough analysis and we understand that if it is up to Roman Abramovich the coach should stay.

"The owner does not want to sack a coach who has signed an extension until 2019 just in mid-season.

"It should not be forgotten that Chelsea will have to build their new stadium and that's why they do not have money to squander like that."
