INSIDER: Chelsea lead Havertz race ahead of Man Utd, Real Madrid

Chelsea remain in the lead for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz.

Havertz has enjoyed another stellar campaign for the Bundesliga side, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists in 41 appearances.

Various clubs have been linked and Gazzetta dello Sport's journalist Nicolo Schira claims Frank Lampard's Chelsea are at the front of the queue.

It's said the Blues, including transfer guru Marina Granovskaia, are 'courting' Havertz but face strong competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

"Chelsea still in the front row for Kai Havertz and continue to court him," Schira tweeted. "Also Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Real Madrid are really interested in him, but Blues at the moment lead the race."
