Arsenal have made contact with Olympique Marseille for Florian Thauvin.

The France international, formerly of Newcastle United, is on Arsenal's shortlist of winger transfer targets, revealed a Gunners source.

The insider told La Phoceen: "They had made contact with two players in the Premier League, Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth and Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace.

"But without the Champions League, and when you know the rates between English clubs, they can already forgetting these tracks. Since a few days ago, they're talking about Thauvin at Arsenal and actually it could go with the needs of the club, but there are other priorities for the owners."
