Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is set to miss the start of pre-season training after breaking his collarbone playing for Mexico.
The 27 year old was injured in a Gold Cup warm-up game against Honduras in Houston and is likely to be out for up to four weeks and miss the tournament.
"The fracture of the right collarbone has been confirmed," said Mexico team doctor Gerardo Aguilar.
Mexico coach Miguel Herrera said: "It will have an impact on the group but we're just thinking about what is ahead.
"This is an unfortunate situation we cannot change."
