Former Manchester United and Liverpool captain Paul Ince has returned to management.

Reading have sacked manager Veljko Paunović despite a 3-2 win over Preston in his last match.

Manchester United legend Ince, whose son Tom is on loan at Reading, has been named as interim manager.

The Royals are in danger of being relegated from the Championship, sitting just five points and one place above Wayne Rooney's Derby County.

Prior to Saturday's win at Deepdale they had not won in 12 games - a run which included an FA Cup exit to non-league Kidderminster Harriers and a 7-0 defeat to Fulham.
