RB Leipzig midfielder Ilaix Moriba is happy to have returned to Valencia.

Ilaix has re-signed for Valencia on a season-long loan after last term's six month spell.

“I already knew that I was not going to stay at RB Leipzig from the beginning of the preseason. I was holding out as long as possible, talking to the board and everything in case there was a chance to come here," he told the VCF website.

“I am very happy to be here again, I was here last year and I loved the club, the city, the fans, the teammates… From the first moment I knew that Valencia CF was my first choice and thank God I already I'm here."

The midfielder also revealed that coach Gennaro Gattuso, who was not there last season, called to encourage him to return.

“I spoke with the coach, the truth is that he told me that he wanted me here, he would be very happy that I was here. I can't fail Gattuso or the fans, that's why I come with everything and to give the best of me every moment.

“In this second stage I hope we can give the fans the joy that we couldn't give them last year, to be able to qualify for Europe and enjoy like last year. We have to do the job well and we're all happy."
