Ibrahimovic qualifies statement claiming he is extending stay with Man Utd

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho said the club will be giving 35-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic a second year at Old Trafford.

However, the Swedish striker has said a contract extension is "automatic after a while", but the criteria has not been fulfilled yet.

"We didn't even have any discussions, we had a contract that said one plus one," says Ibrahimovic. "I feel good I feel fresh, I feel like now I will probably take a second year.

"I want to be honest with myself and I don't want to waste time, but if I feel like now then yes. The second year goes automatic after a while, there's no word from me and no word from them. If it continues like this then it is a yes."
