‘I prefer playing with Belgium’s back four’ - Chelsea keeper Courtois

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admits he would rather play behind his national team's back four than with his club's.

The 23-year-old has failed to keep a clean sheet for the Blues since early February and suggests he would rather have the likes of Vincent Kompany, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Nicolas Lombaerts and Thomas Vermaelen in his team than Stamford Bridge colleagues Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Cesar Azpilicueta.

He told RTBF: "We're still conceding too many goals, and that's not entirely the defence's fault, even though I prefer playing with Belgium's back four."

Courtois is back in his home country with the Belgian national team preparing for next week's friendly with Portugal which could be cancelled due to Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels.
