I am used to competing with likes of Falcao, van Persie - Man Utd star Rooney

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney insists he is comfortable competing with the likes of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

In an exclusive interview for Sky Sports, Gary Neville asked the striker if it was ever an issue for him to go up against the likes of van Persie and Falcao, who spent the season on loan from Monaco, in the Red Devils' selection.

Neville posed the question: "Did it [the arrival of Falcao] give you a bit of spite to prove yourself?"

To which Rooney replied: "Yeah, of course.

"I think obviously when we signed Falcao, van Persie, you've got two world-class strikers so it's not going to be easy.

"But, to be honest, I've had that through my career at Man United, we've had (Dimitar Berbatov) Berba, (Carlos) Tevez, (Cristiano) Ronaldo when he was playing as a striker, so it's something I've got used to every year."
