England World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst says Tottenham striker Harry Kane shouldn't be selected for today's Nations League game against Switzerland.
Kane has only played twice since returning from an ankle injury and Hurst thinks a proper break would be for the benefit of his long-term career.
Hurst, 77, told The Sun: “This match is not the end of the world either-way. Give the opportunity to someone else to play in his place instead.
“It's a long season. Give him a break and a longer recuperation. That will do him more good.
“He should try and lie on a beach for a month and recharge the batteries.
“Overall, he has had a disappointing finish to the season but he has had his injuries.
“He may only have three or four weeks before he has to start again. It's advisable that the players take as much time off as they can."
