Marco Rossi has revitalised Hungarian football, giving the possibility to dream for a national team that has recently raised its head and can now compete on a par with a big rivals like Russia.
Coming off his two Nations League engagements, a very convincing victory over Turkey (1-0) and an undeserved defeat against Russia (2-3), Marco Rossi spoke exclusively to Tribal Football.
He said: "We are moderately satisfied with this start, especially for the way we held the field against opponents, on paper, more highly rated than us. And especially in view of the play-off against Bulgaria, we needed some more certainty."
One of Rossi's Hungary's stars is undoubtedly Dominik Szoboszlai, the 19-year-old left winger for RB Salzburg and one of the prized pieces on the current market.
When we asked what he would prefer for the boy's future, Rossi said: "Regarding Szoboszlai, it is clear that he is at a crucial moment in his career. His future could depend on this decision. I hope he can find space with continuity wherever he goes. It would be important for his growth and that of the national team."
The results obtained by Rossi have not gone unnoticed and many clubs are starting to get information about him, including top teams in the Süper Lig.
On the rumours that big Turkish clubs are interested in him, the Italian added: "It is clearly always gratifying to know that you are appreciated. It helps your self-esteem. The Turkish championship is certainly at an excellent level, but now we are only focused on the path of the national team. October and November will tell us if we will be part of the European Championship or not. We will see."
So, eyes on the next two big games against Serbia (11th October) and Russia (14th October).
