Hull winger Maloney confident Scotland will give good account of themselves against Germany

Hull City winger Shaun Maloney believes that Scotland will put in a respectable performance against World Champions Germany in their all important Euro2016 qualifiers.

Scotland suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Georgia on Friday and the result leaves Gordon Strachan's side's chances of qualifying for the UEFA tournament in jeopardy.

Scotland now prepare for a must-win clash against Germany at Hampden Park on Monday and despite the odds being stacked against them, Maloney is hopeful that his side are capable of pulling off a positive result.

Maloney said: "We're going in as massive underdogs. We're playing the world champions. There is a reason they're superior to all the other teams.

"But we will be physically as well prepared as we can be and we'll give it as good as we've got on the night. Then we'll do the same against Poland – against whom we've already done well in the group over there. So we shouldn't be written off."
