Hull starlet Luer eager to kick on following debut goal

Greg Luer is hopeful of building on his dream debut against Huddersfield Town.

Luer was handed a surprise debut during Hull City's Championship opener against the Terriers last weekend, replacing Chuba Akpom towards the end of the 2-0 home win.

The 20-year-old striker then repaid manager Steve Bruce's faith by finding the back of the net, and then converting from the penalty spot, in the Capital One Cup victory over Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

The dream debut has certainly filled Luer with confidence and the young gun is now looking to build on the performance during the coming weeks.

Luer told the Hull Daily Mail: "It was a good feeling to get my first goal.

"That's given me a massive confidence boost going forward. I didn't expect to make the squad so soon, I thought I'd be starting in the under-21s, but training with the team. I'm delighted to have got a chance."
