Hull skipper Davies desperate to reach Wembley

Hull City captain Curtis Davies is desperate to lead the club to Wembley.

A home quarter-final against Sunderland, now confirmed for Sunday, March 9, is the only obstacle left in the Tigers way in their quest of reaching Wembley for only the second time in their history.

"You go throughout your whole career and not many people can say they have played in an FA Cup semi-final and I want to be one of those people," said Davies after Monday's FA Cup replay win over Brighton.

"It would be massive. I've missed out on playing at Wembley five times with West Brom, Villa and Birmingham.

"I have been there, but not managed to play. I'd like to actually be on the pitch for once and not just a spectator.

"I was injured once, cup-tied once and 'pied off' another time. Fingers crossed, it will be sixth time lucky, but obviously we need to get through the Sunderland game first."
